Today I finally had an appointment with my doctor (I LOVE her) and it went really well. They set me up on monitors for a little while just to see what's going on. I was glad that today I haven't had many contractions and I have been feeling really good. I was hoping that while on the monitors they would see that my uterus is behaving and maybe I could be freed a little bit from my bed rest. Well I guess you can't hide a bad uterus. I had a few mild contractions, but my uterus just does funky stuff. My doctor said I have an "irritable uterus". Basically it means I just have contractions ALL the time. And I start having them really early on, like around 16 weeks. It is nothing bad, but it explains why I go into preterm labor. In fact, my doctor said she had the same problem with all 3 of her kids, and she had 3 premie's, and a LOT of bedrest. Thankfully, I am just about to the safe zone for Grayson to come. According to my doctors chart I am 34 weeks and 4 days, but I am measuring 35. This is a big deal because a month ago he was measuring behind and we were a little concerned. The funny thing is that this is exactly what happened with Camden. He measured behind most of the time, but at the end he measured ahead.
So for now, I am still on bed rest until I hit 36 weeks. However, after I hit 35 weeks, if I do go into labor, she is not going to try and stop it. She said it is healthier for me have a baby at 35 weeks than to give me more drugs to stop labor. Basically I have just over a week left of bed rest and then we will be prepared to have him at any time. She is guessing he already weighs around 5 lbs. So each week from here on out will just be better and better for him to grow and put on weight.
Whew, I think that is all the details. I wanted to make sure I wrote out everything that is happening with this pregnancy, because it is so much like the last one, and for future pregnancies I can remember exactly what happens. Oh, and side note: I have only gained 24 lbs so far this pregnancy!! Wooo! Last pregnancy I gained 42, so I am pretty excited!!!
Grayson,
You are just like your big brother and you want to come out of your Mama sooner than we anticipated. But I won't lie, I would LOVE to hold you in my arms instead of having contractions all day every day. I just want you to be ready and healthy!! So grow grow grow my little munchkin, and pack on that chunk, so when you come you will be perfect to come home with us! I love you sweet boy, and I can't wait to meet you.

Ahh yes, the 'irritable uterus' that's what I get with my pregnancies, just keep taking it easy, he'll be here before you know it :-)
