9 Months

Camden,

Oh my sweet boy, you are already 9 months old. That means that you have been here with us for as long as I carried you in my tummy. However the 9 months you have been with us have completely flown by, and my pregnancy felt like it lasted for 2 years. So strange how fast time flies when you have kids!

Here are a few of the new things you did this past month:

  • Went on a park swing for the first time

  • Played on a playground
  • Stayed overnight with friends in Cottonwood

  • Celebrated your first Halloween, and you were the cutest scarecrow ever, and after a quick change you were also the cutest skeleton ever!

And I am sure the list could go on, but now on to more details about your last month....

You are definitely a kid now, and an very adorable one at that. You can do so many new things this month. You are a moving machine. The entire house is your playground. You have pulled yourself up on just about every piece of furniture in the house, crawled across every piece of tile, and climbed the bottom 3 stairs. We now have a baby gate up, all the outlets plugged, cupboards locked up, shelves and a side table mounted to the wall and we still have to watch you like a hawk. It is so much fun to watch you explore, you definitely are taking it all in and like to discover new things.
This is your new cupboard in the kitchen. I specifically put all non breakable items in there so you can just play to our hearts content while I cook.

Meal time with you is an adventure. You LOVE fruit and rice cereal, they are your favorites. With vegetables, there are some days when you love them and other days when you gag your way through each bite. You eat your puffs super fast and we can hardly keep them on your tray. We just started to give you more finger foods, but you like to shove to much in your mouth and you tend to gag and choke a lot. So we are starting slow. You have fed yourself little pieces of avocado, waffles, cheese, and you snuck a big of bite of one of my crackers and actual did really well eating it. You still moan while you eat and we laugh all the time because of how much you enjoy your food. Silly boy!

On another food note, I am still nursing you, but not very often. You eat first thing when you wake up, and occasionally before your morning nap. Then you will eat again when I get home from work, and then before bed time. So basically 3-4 times a day. You are doing much better with a bottle and you have at least one every day. Your sippy cup is still a toy and we like to practice with you but you would much rather chew and play with it rather than drink the water from it.

You are developing your own personality, and also a little temper. You always know what you want, and if you don't get it, you throw a little tantrum. Your Dad and I are starting to really learn about patience and we are discussing all the ways we want to teach you and discipline you. For example: we are already having to sit you down when you try to stand in the bath tub, and each time we calmly explain to you why you have to sit. We want to make sure that when we tell you that you shouldn't be doing something we let you know why and give you a better choice to make. We know that you are not completely understanding yet, but we know you will get it very soon. You are a smart boy!

Here is a little bit about your looks! You have 8 teeth!! I can't even believe it. You just cut 2 more that I noticed tonight, which brings the grand total to 8 teeth at only 9 months old. I had no idea you could have so many teeth at such a young age. You also have the best red hair ever. Your Dad and I get comments constantly on your hair. Strangers are always walking past us in stores and all they say is "oh my, look at his red hair"! You are definitely an attention grabber. You are probably getting close to needing a hair cut, as your hair now has grown over your ears, but we don't want to cut it because it is just way to cute. We might just have to start styling it so you look way to cool! You are wearing 12-18 month old clothes and even a few 2T's. Seriously, I am ready to hit the pause button on you Mister, you are just growing way to fast. Before we know it your first birthday will be here!!

Well Camden, we are so in love with you. Your Dad and I can never seem to get enough of you (like the other night when we both wanted to snuggle you even though you were asleep, we went in and picked you up while you slept and it really made you mad, sorry, we are your crazy parents). We just love each new day with you, and even when we feel like we might loose our patience, we remember how blessed we are to have you, and how special you are in our lives. (even when you wake me up at 5 am every day). Thank you for being our son, and filling our lives and those around us with so much joy. We love you Bubba!

Love,
Mom
