I will share more about my first Mother's Day in my next post. But for now, here is the sweet poem my Dad wrote for me for my first Mother's Day. Get the tissues ready, this one is a tear jerker for all you Mama's out there. Thank you Dad for your poems, I LOVE them!
First Times
From the First Time that I held you, and I looked into your eyes
To the First Time when you looked back at me and smiled, to my surprise.
The First Time you held a gym bar, the First Time you won first place.
The First Time you went to school, and the First Time you said grace
The First Time that you played with dolls, pretending to be a Mother.
The First Time that you asked Mom and me, for a little brother.
The First Time that you dated, the First Time you fell in love,
The First and Only time you would marry, blessed by God above.
The First Time that you told me, you would have a bundle of joy
The First Time you delivered, your First Time baby boy.
The first time you held Camden, and he smiled back at you,
It was the First Time I didn’t see just one thing, I was seeing two.
I not only saw my baby daughter, who’s first smile was such a thrill,
I also saw a First Time Mommy, whose dream had been fulfilled.
I saw an awesome, caring Mommy, loving her First Time son,
And realized Camden’s First Times, had really just begun.
So enjoy the moment, live your dreams, take time to laugh and play,
And from this First Time Papa...
