I was so excited when I was pregnant this time around, I felt like I would be more prepared and would schedule newborn pictures and get them done right away so we could have them to put on our Christmas cards....well, 2 weeks of bedrest later+11 unplanned days in the NICU+forgetfulness=hurry up and schedule a photo shoot before the New Year!!
Thankfully we have some amazing friends who came to our rescue. Our dear friends Josh and Kelley, who have done all of our recent family photo sessions, came at the last minute to take some newborn {or 3 week old} pictures of Grayson and hopefully snag a few family pictures in as well that we could use for our Christmas card.
As always, we are thrilled with the results, even though getting the actual pictures taken is such a chore. For example: trying to get an almost 2 year old to pose for pictures is nearly impossible, a baby who is wide awake, has his own ideas of how to pose and won't stay where we put him, and a Dad who is supposed to be home but instead is in surgery for his current rotation and showed up for the last 20 minutes to get into a few pictures himself...whew what a mess! We are so grateful for the Johnson's working with us and being so patient with our crazy family of 4.
