Grayson's room has been a long time coming. We first had to close in our loft to make it a bedroom, then we had to do a lot of other messy construction work to get it suitable for a bedroom. On top of all that, I have a toddler to chase around, a VERY busy husband, and a lack of motivation. That means this room could have taken us a week or so to get done, but instead it has been months of making little decisions and just picking up where we left off 3 weeks ago every time we work on it. We still are not done by any means, and I normally don't like to give away the look before we are finished. But, I don't know if or when we will be finished, so I decided to give you all a peek at what the past few months have looked like in Grayson's room. I will give you a little play by play to understand the pictures.
This is the "loft" that we had to close in. It overlooked our downstairs.
Here is how it looked after we put the wall up.
The room also needed a door since it was just open into the hallway.
Here is what the construction looked like while putting in the door.
This is the wall behind the crib. We decided to add horizontal stripes.
Here is the progress of the wall. The paint on the main walls is a light gray, while the stripes are a charcoal metallic color.
Ok and here is the current status of the room....
We LOVE the bold stripes. We plan to paint the "G" in a teal metallic to hang above the crib.
The fabric that is temporarily wrapped around the lamp is the same fabric that will be on the bumper pad for the crib. We are still deciding what color fabric to add to the changing pad on the dresser.
We LOVE this lime green rug in front of the crib. It is the 3rd rug we have bought for the room and it is finally the perfect one!
The rest of the room is still pretty blah. We need to hang up the mirror that is leaning on the wall, and add some other things to the walls.
We had such a difficult time finding bedding we liked, so instead we chose this bold fabric and Wesley's mom is currently making our bedding. It will be mixed with a black fabric for the crib skirt.
I am going to cover our lamp with this fabric using this tutorial.
My best friend is also going to be making a window treatment. I still have to figure out what fabric I want for that.
I can't wait to finish this wall. It is big and blah and I can't wait to make it stand out.
Well that is about all we have done for now. We may end up changing the layout around a little bit because we still have to figure out a way to put our glider in the room. I love having the crib centered on the wall, but if we leave it that way our glider won't fit on either side of it. I am still trying to figure it all out.
So what do you think so far? Any ideas you all have for us that you think this room just absolutely needs??

im so jealous of your creativity!!! I have a HUGE living space that has been pretty much blank and blah aside from a big shelving unit/entertainment center thing for 3 months since i've moved in because I get overwhelmed thinking about how to decorate it! I have certain accent decorations I know I want the room to be decorated around, but thats about it! UGH!
The baby's room looks amazing!! :)
