11 Months

Camden,

Where has the time gone? We are one month away from your first birthday, and I feel like it was just last week that I was going to the hospital to have you. This has been a very fun 11 months with you, and we love every minute we get to spend with you.

This past month you have changed even more into a boy, and less like a baby than you were before. You are slowly loosing your baby fat, and you have actually gone down a size in diapers. You are so busy now, and you move around so much, that the weight is just falling off of you. You still love to eat, but you are very particular now about what you eat. You know that you can pick and choose now, so you do. If we put something on your tray that you don't want, you eat all around it, and pick just the things you want. The only way I can get you to eat vegetables now, is if I disguise the taste with something you like better. You still let me feed you from a spoon, but you really enjoy taking the spoon out of my hand and putting it into your mouth by yourself. You are a very messy eater, but we expected that, because you are a boy. Goldfish are your favorite snack, and I have to keep them hidden or else you will beg for them...seriously, beg! You love your litte fish.

You also really enjoying talking and screaming now. When you are in the car, you just jabber away. It is so cute to look at your reflection in the mirror and just watch as you talk and talk. I can not wait until you actual begin talking, I think you will have a lot to say, and you will be very funny. You are actually really funny right now. You make silly faces on purpose, and when we laugh at you, you do this little snort thing and make us laugh harder. You know how funny you are, and we love it.

You really enjoy your play time. You love your toys, and you do not love sharing. Although I have tried to get you to understand, I know it will take time before you realize that it is ok to share your toys with other kids.

You are very good at waving hi and bye, and you make a sound when you wave that either sounds like hi or bye. It is very cute! You also give high fives, and we are trying to get you to blow kisses, but when you try it looks like you are just waving. It is still all so cute.

We love to take you on walks. You really have to get out of the house each day, or else you really get crazy. You have such a love for the outdoors, and we sometimes catch you staring out the back window as if you are dreaming of the day you can just run around outside. I think we want to get you a little swing set for the backyard, so in a few months you will be able to go out there and just play.

This month you also began really considering walking. You not only would walk all along furniture, but you became very brave and was letting go and just standing for a while. You would attempt a step every once in a while, but usually just lean over and fall. Just the other day we got 2 steps out of you, that was it. But, on the day you hit 11 months, you did it, you walked on your own. You were holding on to your firetruck, and you turned, looked at me, and took 4 steps. You have done it a bunch of times since then, and it is just so cute. You prefer to hold on to something before you walk. You have yet to stand up from a sitting position and walk that way. But I know it is coming soon. I actually think that once you figure it out, you will just begin running everywhere. I better put on my exercise clothes, because I know you will be on the move very soon.

Another new development this month is you new attachment to Mom and Dad. You have always loved when we hold you, but normally you didn't care too much if anyone else took you. Now, you are very much aware of strangers, and you are super attached to us. In fact, last week was the first time you cried when we dropped you off in the church nursery. It was so sad to leave you there crying, but they said it only took 10 minutes and you calmed down and ended up having so much fun playing. Hopefully this is a quick stage and you don't feel sad every time we leave you.

Well baby, next time I write you a letter you will be 1!!! I can not believe it. We are sending out invitations for your birthday party in about a week. It is so crazy. We are sad that your little baby stage is over, but we look forward to all of your new accomplishments in your next year. We love you so much and could not imagine our lives with out you in it.
