Yummy Food

Camden is now officially eating! We were so excited to start him on food because we already knew how much he loved to nurse so we could only imagine how much more he would enjoy real food off a spoon. The first time we tried to give him some rice cereal, he was not impressed. We probably didn't start it at the right time, because he was already hungry, and since he had never eaten from a spoon he had no idea what he was doing and he became frustrated. The second time he again was completely not interested, it was probably because he remembered me trying that once before and he was not going to fall for it again. We decided to wait a few days to try again. So today, we offered him some cereal an hour after he last nursed, so he was not starving, and he was in a really fun mood. He did so good! He was actually taking bites and swallowing them, like how real people eat :) It was adorable. Wesley loves to feed him, I am guessing since I have been the one who has fed him the last 5 months, it is fun to finally get in on it.

When we started today we put a bib on him, that was a mistake! He was more interested in the bib and all the colors on it, so we quickly removed the bib. So it was nakey baby in a Bumbo on the kitchen table eating his food.
He ate and ate!
And lately he has been obsessed with Mom :) I am not complaining, but he won't ever stop watching me and what I am doing. This makes it easy to take his picture. Every picture I took he was staring right at me while Wes was shoveling food into his mouth.
And I managed to get a few smiles while he was eating.
How cute is he?!

We had to thoroughly clean him down after he was all finished. I can only imagine the mess he is going to make when he starts eating baby food with colors (peas, carrots, sweet potatoes, etc.) I think he will just always be covered in his food. He is a boy, so messes are expected!

We are so proud of our little baby growing up, we are loving each milestone!
