Easter Sunday was a wonderful day for us, spent with our wonderful families. Wesley and I were so proud to finally make it to church before the service started. Camden was great through the entire service, there were no surprise
diapers and he had a full belly, so no need to nurse him in the quiet room. It was so nice to sit through the whole service with my incredible husband, and just enjoy church as our little family. After church was through, we ended up being the last people in the sanctuary because so many people stopped by to say hi to Camden. He is sure a people magnet! After church we headed over to my grandparents assisted living home, and had brunch with my family. We had a great time visiting with them! We took some pictures after, and then we went over to Wesley's parents house. We had dessert with them, and some of Wesley's cousins came in to town from California and they were finally able to meet Camden. He was in a great mood after sleeping all day, so that afternoon when he was wide awake, we put him on the floor for tummy time, and he started showing off and rolled over for them 3 times. We are so amazed by how quickly he rolls over now, and also how funny it is that he does it every time we put him on his tummy. It is like he just can't enjoy being on his tummy so he has to roll every time!
Camden with his football Easter basket from us...I am sure he will love it next year!
Camden and his Easter basket from Grammy. It was of course filled with wonderful goodies for Cam, and a few for us :)
Camden and his Aunties...he slept through the entire day!
Our little family.
The whole family with our grandparents. All in all we had a wonderful Easter Sunday. I am so thankful for the true meaning of Easter. Wesley and I went to the Journey to the Cross on Saturday night at our church. This is a walk through the final days of Christs' time here on earth. It is so powerful to be reminded each year at this time of the sacrifice he made for us. There were so many moments as we walked through the journey where we had to just stop and take it all in. He didn't have to go through all the suffering he endured on the cross, but because of his love for us sinners, he chose to go through a brutal death so that we may have eternal life with him. How incredible is that? His love for us is so deep that he would die, and not only die, but endure torture and ridicule during his death. He was taunted and tried, and while he was dying on the cross, he chose not to "save himself" as his taunters chanted at him. He had a much better and bigger plan. He died that day and all the earth was dark. Who would have guessed that in 3 days, He would move the stone that covered his grave and be raised to life. The resurrection story is such an incredible story and if you need one story to give you faith to believe, I would think this is the one!
Thank you Lord for sending your son to die on the cross so that we may have eternal life with you.
