I started this new smoothie craze since being a stay at home mama! I am not sure what gave me the inspiration, maybe I was craving berries! Anyways...it is so yummy and also pretty healthy. It is Wesley's new favorite too. I make them quite often around here!
*Hint*
I buy the frozen orange juice from Costco, so we can have orange juice anytime we want, and it is much cheaper than buying a gallon at the grocery store.

Then I add 3 spoonfuls (about 3/4 cup) of low fat vanilla yogurt (it is the ice cream substitute)
5 frozen strawberries....I get them from...yep, you guessed it, Costco!
I also like to add half a banana if I have one, I did not have one the day I made this smoothie.
I love to add oats to my smoothie. It is a food that sticks, aka, it keeps you full longer...which is good when you want to loose a few pounds :) It also adds a little bit of a chewy texture when you drink the smoothie, and I love that!

It's been a while since I'v made those! Never thought about the oats! I'm going to try that next. Thanks for the idea. I just might have to make those tomorrow!
Your just like your Dad...he adds oats to his protein shakes. Something about chewing your smoothie or protein shake is what your Dad likes, like you!!
Love ya,
Mom
I am craving one. I usually just use water, frozen fruit and yogurt...this looks much more gourmet!
PS where did you get your glasses? i want them.
Val- the glasses I believe were from Dillards. My mom bought them for us when we got married (they were on super clearance), so they are about 3 years old...but I have them in 3 sizes, about 16 of each size, lol so I could maybe part with a few so you can have a cute smoothie glass :)
looks yummy! cant wait to have one when i stay over in may!!! :)
