6 Months!
It is so crazy that Grayson is halfway to being a 1 year old! Our sweet little boy is growing up so fast and I can hardly believe we have already had him with us for 6 whole months.
Grayson is all boy! I remember giving the same description of Camden around this age. I can already see the little boy in him trying to come out...and it is scary!! Since we already have 1 boy, I know what is coming my way, and I'm scared. How will I handle two crazy boys who run, climb, jump, run, fall, tackle, run, jump, and run. Did I mention run? I don't think boys even know how to walk, it is all running all the time.
Grayson has officially become mobile and there is no turning back. It started with him just pushing into a crawl position and rocking back and forth. He would do this in his sleep and it would wake him up, then he would wake me up, and I would have to rock him back to sleep. Oh sweet boy! Now he is officially scooting and takes one crawl before belly flopping. Grayson also never stops moving, unless he is sleeping. He can get around the entire house by rolling every direction he can imagine, he can kick every inch of bath water out of his infant tub, I can hardly get a diaper on him because he tries to roll over and scoot away from me, and he loves to jump when we stand him up. See why I am scared? He is going to be walking soon and from then on I will never get a break from chasing my boys around. But, I love it!
Typically around 6 months (or even before), many babies will start to eat solid foods. Not Grayson. Nope. He won't do it. At all. We have tried avocado, sweet potatoes, apple sauce, bananas, rice cereal, oatmeal, honeydew, puffs, and mum mum's. So far he likes none of the above! The poor kid shivers when any food goes into his mouth. One night after giving him just a few bites of oatmeal he projectile vomited all over himself and me. I don't know if he is just not ready or if he is going to be a picky eater. I am not worried too much about it yet. At his 6 month check up he was still in the 50-75% for weight and 90% for his height. He is a big boy and he gets plenty of nutrition from nursing. I know he needs food eventually, but I am just starting slow for him. Hopefully this month he will really improve on eating.
I still have no idea what his night sleep schedule is. He will sleep from 7:30-5 sometimes, then other times he will wake up at 10 to eat and 3 to eat. Or, he will wake himself up as he is trying out new skills like crawling and I have to rock him back to sleep. Who knows? He is consistent throughout the day and takes 2-3 really great naps. I get excited when he sleeps all night 3 nights in a row but he always throws us for a loop. Silly kid. I hope we get consistent soon.
We just love our sweet boy. He is so interactive and loves people. He still loves to give kisses to other babies and women. He is very smart! He discovered his "screaming for fun" voice this month, and after a few days of doing this he developed a little bit of a scratchy voice...so adorable!! He loves Mama and prefers me over anyone else in the entire world...not that big of a deal :)
Grayson, we are so proud to be your parents and so proud of you and all that you are learning as you grow up. Yes, even at 6 months we are proud of your little accomplishments. We love you so much and your smile with 2 little teeth just lights up our day.
