He is a walking and talking machine right now. He is so fun, we can't even stand it. He loves to chat, and his all time favorite thing to say is "Saaassss". Our dog is Sassy, and apparently she is his favorite thing in the whole world. He says it when he first wakes up, when he first sees her, when we get home from anywhere, and just when he feels like talking. It is so funny! He also says Hi (high, his last name....smart kid), nuh nuh (no no), eshh (car), hah (hot), um um (yum yum), and Mama & Dada.
As far as his sleeping goes, he still does pretty good, although we would love an extra hour or 2. He goes to bed around 7 and wakes up between 5:30 and 6. So he gets almost 11 hours each night, but I know some kids who sleep 13 hours a night, and that would be wonderful for me. Especially now, I am just having a hard time getting up that early and would love a little longer. I guess I can't complain too much, because he still takes 2, 2 hour naps, which means this Mama gets a good nap each day too!
Camden is a boy, and boys like to eat...a lot! I had no idea that he would be eating so much at such a young age. Here is an example: for breakfast today, I gave him some little yogurt melts while I made him a scrambled egg, he ate all the melts, his whole egg, an entire banana, and a whole waffle (he loves dry toasted waffles). Then he helped finish off Wesley's smoothie. Are you kidding me? I can't even eat that much and I am pregnant! We are in big trouble if our next one is a boy, they are going to eat us out of house!
And yes, Camden is still nursing...sort of! I think my supply is basically gone, so he gets 1 feeding a day. Either morning or night, depending on when I feel like nursing him. With being pregnant now, nursing is starting to hurt. I am not enjoying it anymore, and I am ready to completely quit. I didn't nurse him for like 36 hours this weekend, and he was a basket case. I am not sure if it was the lack of nursing, or that he didn't get sufficient naps. Either way, I can't handle another day like we had on Saturday, so I will allow 1 nursing a day until he is tired of it. I know it might seem crazy to some people that I still nurse my {almost} 14 month old, but it has been the best experience with my baby. I recommend nursing to every Mom! It is definitely hard at first, a challenge...but, once you and baby get it down, it is easy, convenient, a good weight loss program, and the healthiest thing you can do for your child. Camden has been sick 1 time in 14 months, I blame the milk :)
Ok, on to some of his activities. Camden is all boy! He loves to ride his quad. He is very good at it now, and he hops on it all the time and just rides around our yard. He loves to be outside, and our yard is small enough that he can play outside by himself while I am in the kitchen and I can basically see him at all times. He has a new water table and he loves splashing around in that. He still hasn't figured out his little play gym with a slide, he usually tries to climb the slide, and when that fails he just walks away. He is very interested in books, and always points to the shelf with the books so he can pick one out for us to read to him. He loves dancing, and will bust a move whenever he hears music. His all time favorite thing right now is Wesley's remote control car. Whenever we walk into the garage he points to it and says "eshh"...he wants to watch it drive all the time. I think Cam and Wes would both be content driving that little car for an entire day.
I think that is most of what is going on with my little Cam right now. He is very fun, and I am going to enjoy the next 8.5 months I have with just him. I know things are going to be so much different once our new little one comes along, so I want to treasure these times I have with Camden.
