10 Months

So this is a few days late, but our little boy is now 10 months old!! He is becoming such an independent big boy and we are LOVING each new thing that he does.

Dear Camden,

You are officially a toddler now in my book. You have become such a big boy in so many ways this past month. You are walking all around the house, just not on your own. As long as you can hold on to something, or find something you can push, you find a way to walk everywhere. You are less wobbly now and if you are beginning to fall you can finally fall back onto your buns and not on your head. (thank goodness).

Now that you are all over the place all the time, we have to make sure everything that you can not have is out of reach. You still manage to find random cords and attempt to pull them out of the wall. If we try to stop you or take you away from doing something dangerous, you now get very upset. You have officially started tantrums. As adorable as it is to see you get so worked up, I am having to teach you right from wrong (which means not laughing when you throw those tantrums).
This is the beginning of a tantrum

The other day you were so mad you bit your hand. And I have now learned this is your way of showing anger. If I take anything away that you want, you bite your hand. I am hoping this is the worst of it, I heard from your Grammy that when I was a baby, I would hit my head on the ground when I was angry. Please don't do that!

Since you are such a busy boy you work up a lot of energy, which means you love to eat to maintain that energy. You are eating just about anything you want now. As long as we can tear it up into pieces, we let you try it. Last night was the first night I gave you a heap of spaghetti and chicken all over your tray. You made a huge mess, but you loved every bite. It is so much fun to see you eating what we eat, and so hard to believe that just a few months ago all you did was nurse. You are still nursing now, just not very often. Morning and night, and maybe once or twice throughout the day. You finally have a sippy cup that you use and love, and it has a straw. You are REALLY good at drinking through a straw so we found you the perfect sippy cup and you just love it. It's adorable to see you use a sippy.

You are such a boy in all the things you do. We constantly find you trying to climb on things, discovering the toilet and wanting to get your hands in it, always trying to stand in the bath tub, climbing all of our stairs with no help, wanting to brush your own teeth every time we brush them, and loving when your dad throws you around like a crazy boy. You are just a blast and we love laughing with you.

We put up the Christmas tree a few weeks ago, and much to our surprise, you don't even care about it. You tried to touch it a few times the day it went up, but every time you touched a branch it made you shiver, so now you stay clear of it all together. We are definitely ok with that!

You now have your own cupboard in the kitchen full of tupperware. I did this so you could entertain yourself while I cook. It usually lasts about 5 minutes and then you are off to find something new. At least I do get 5 minutes, it is better than 0 minutes I guess.

Also, you wave now at everyone! Whenever we walk out the door you wave, if we walk past a door you wave, if we take you outside you wave, or if I walk away from you somewhere in the house you wave. It is so adorable. You have figured it out and we can tell you really enjoy your new hand motions. We are working on baby sign language with you now too. I think it will be a while before you understand it, but right now we enjoy showing you the motions while you laugh at us.

Your hair is getting very long, but I am still not ready to cut it. It is the best color and we get comments daily on how adorable you are. We also get asked where you get your red hair from...seriously?? ME! I am your mother, and I AM a red head! Oh well, people just don't look at me when asking the question I guess, they are just to busy staring at you.

Well Cammers, once again, we can not believe how fast you are growing up. You are just a big bundle of fun and you bring us so much joy. We are starting to plan your birthday party, and we will be sending out invitations soon. I can't even believe it. We love you so much and thanks for being such a joy!
