Camden,
I can hardly believe that you, my sweet baby boy, are already 1 month old. This entire month has flown by so quickly, and it has been the best, and the hardest month of our lives. You came into this world 3 weeks early, and I could not have been more grateful for that. I had the greatest pregnancy, but you were such a big boy I was ready to have you in my arms and not inside my belly any longer. You were born on Super Bowl Sunday just after the game ended. We brought you home on Tuesday afternoon...you made us stay in the hospital an extra night because you wouldn't poop, and the nurses wanted to see your poop! Haha! You finally had a fabulous poop, so fabulous, that your adoring dad took a picture! We will show it to you someday I am sure. The night we brought you home, we had a first time parents freak out...we thought you had stopped breathing for a few seconds so we of course panic and started to suction your poor nose, and pat your back to get your breathing to start again. Come to find out, after a quick trip to the ER, newborns sometimes will hold their breath for a few seconds, but they always start to breathe again. And when parents panic, the baby panics, which is why it turned out to be so traumatic. Thankfully you were ok, and we all slept good that night...well as good as you can with waking up every hour or so :)

The first week was tough, baby boy! We had a hard time figuring out the whole nursing thing. You lost 11 oz in the first 4 days...and mommy felt horrible! I was trying so hard to feed you, but it just was not working out how it should. After hiring a lactation consultant, we finally got it all figured out...and once you latched on you realized you can eat as much as you want, and boy can you eat!! You gained all the weight back plus some by the time we had your first doctor appointment at the end of the week.
The second week everything seemed to get easier. We had many visitors, we left the house and ran errands, and you continued to grow and eat like a champ. The day you turned 3 weeks old, mommy woke up with a clogged milk duct and a fever. You decided that was the day you wanted to hit a growth spurt...what a day that was! We stayed in bed all day...you ate all day long, and I massaged that clog all day..together we cleared it up!!

This week we just had your 1 month appointment...and baby you are growing and changing so quickly. You are starting to feel less like a newborn and more like a little baby. You are barely fitting into your newborn diapers anymore, but your dad and I refuse to waste any diapers, so we are going to finish up the pack of newborns before we start you on the next size up! Hopefully you don't decided to overflow those diapers before we go up in size. You are also getting longer, and the newborn sleepers are getting very snug on your growing body...looks like we may have some shopping to do!

You are still only sleeping about 2 and a half to 3 hours in a row at night. I wake up and feed you, then I wake your blissful sleeping dad to go change your diaper...I think it is a fair trade!! Your dad adores you, he calls you Mr. Cam (pronouned Mishter) and when he doesn't call you Mr. Cam, it is Mr. everything else...ex: Mr. Stinky Pants, Mr. Grouchy, Mr. Happy! You are definitely the Mishter in our house. I usually just call you buddy or bubba...they both fit you just perfect!

And speaking of perfect...that seems to be the word everyone uses when they see you. You really are perfect. You have perfect ears, a perfect nose, perfect eyes, a perfect full head of hair, perfect hands...just about everything about you is perfect! The Lord definitely sent us a beautiful little miracle, and we are so thankful for you Mr. Cam!
As we go into the second month of your life, I am so excited to see how you change and grow. I know in the next week or so you will be holding your head up on your own, you have been trying to do that since we brought you home from the hospital. You are growing like a weed, and you are such a healthy and happy boy! I adore seeing your beautiful face every morning, and getting some adorable Camden smiles every day. You are such a blessing, and you are teaching your dad and I patience and selflessness each day.
We love you more than we can every tell you Mr. Camden David High!
Love,
Your Mommy!
PS. I am already working on getting you to say Mama...but I don't think you are getting it yet :)
