7 Weeks all over again

This is from today, we had our first sonogram. Baby High, aka Little Monkey, measured in at 7 weeks. We originally calculated to be nearing 9 weeks, however, we were pretty sure we were not quite that far along. Given as it took me 11 days past my missed period (approximately) to get a positive pregnancy test, we figured my body was off by about a week. At our last appointment our doctor said we were about 6 weeks, but she wouldn't be sure until she could see and measure the baby. So today we did, and for now, our new due date is March 4th.

I can not tell you how excited I was to see that little tiny heartbeat. Let me just tell you, I have taken a total of 7 pregnancy tests (all within the first week) since finding out we were pregnant, just because it helped to put my mind at ease, and of course it is so fun seeing a positive result. However, since I have not had any bad nausea or severe symptoms (except the emotions, tears, tiredness, slight queasiness, headaches, weird dreams, and slight food cravings), my mind was playing tricks on me and I began to worry (hormones do this, I know it!). But today, as soon as the doctor placed that sonogram on my tummy, our little baby popped up on the screen and all my worries were put at ease. That little miracle growing inside of me had the cutest little heart beat (flutter), and, big shocker, I just broke down and of course tears of pure joy were running down my face. Seeing your baby for the first time is so exciting. We were able to have both of our moms with us, they were both in awe of this miracle, you can tell this little baby is going to be sooo loved.

Our next appointment is in 4 weeks. So for now, I am going to wait another week to take our next tummy picture. Haha I am going to have to take another 8 week picture, but that's ok. It's a cute story to tell. And hey, how many people get to be 8 weeks pregnant twice during 1 pregnancy. Yep, thats right, not many!
